Selfishness is our Achilles heel

 When I look out across the world and see all of impending consequences we face just across the horizon, and I ask why is this happening, what is it that we did that is causing it: the answer is selfishness.

It is the selfishness of being ignorant and not educating yourself, and not standing up to Gossip, Lies, and Bullies.

It is the selfishness of not ending the suffering of people who are born in poverty, who are in poverty right now.

It is this selfishness, which is why we are weak right now, and unable to act and do what must be done. Because what is required would be something selfless, something for others, something that is a sacrifice.

One of the most overrated things in this world is Freedom. Because the choice of what is needs to be done, is the only choice that ends suffering, that ends abuse. We have created this reality through our selfish choices.

As long as you draw breath you can still choose to do the right thing. You can make an impact, no matter how small, to bring us as a collective into the right direction.

So instead of Freedom, we should be praising Sacrifice. Those who dare to stand up and do the work that is needed. Those who choose to live a life of dedication, service, and being our guide to a new life. 

We have everything we need to create a new Life. The purpose of Life is Life itself. One day this will make sense.
